Leaf season collection service is provided to city residents during the months of October through December. During leaf season, the City of Lexington operates leaf vacuum machines and equipment to assist citizens in disposal. Leaf collection is limited to inside the city limits.
For the purpose of leaf collection, the City is divided into two sections. Leaf season is a weekly collection process and leaves are collected during each designated section during the assigned week. This process is repeated throughout leaf season but seasonal weather can impact the timeliness of collection. For timely collection, leaves must be ready at the curb or roadside no later than Monday 6:00 a.m. of the designated collection week. Due to the volume of leaves collected, special collections outside of the designated cycle cannot be permitted.
