Getting around could not be any easier when you are in Lexington whether it is by rail, open roads, air, taxi or bus.
If your choice is rail, freight carriers such as Winston-Salem Southbound and Norfolk Southern serve Lexington and passenger access via Amtrak is only 15 minutes away. Lexington is scheduled to receive passenger rail service by 2017.
If you prefer the open roads, there are numerous options. Interstate 85 passes directly through Lexington as does US Highway 52 (future I-285), US Highway 64, US Highway 29-70, and NC Highway 8. The proximity to I-85 and US Highway 52 places the City an hour or less from major population centers such as Charlotte, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem. As a bonus, Lexington is just over an hour from the Research Triangle Park in Durham and the State Capitol in Raleigh by way of Interstates 85 and 40 or by US Highway 64.
If you prefer air travel, the Davidson County Airport located in Lexington can accommodate your executive travel needs. A full taxiway to a runway of 5000 feet by 100 feet paves the way for an airport that is growing. For more information about the airport, please contact Millennium Aviation by email or by phone at 336-956-7774.
For commercial flight options, Lexington is approximately 30 minutes from Piedmont Triad International in Greensboro, an hour from Charlotte-Douglas International, and just over an hour from Raleigh-Durham International.
