Chick-fil-A 10,000 Meals
Posted Date: 10/25/2017 4:30 PM
CFA CollageChick-fil-A is passionate about making a difference and that is clear by the emphasis it is making on supporting causes in the community. At 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25th, the Lexington Chick-fil-A started assembling 10,000 meals with the help of those camping out to win the free Chick-fil-A for a year. The campers formed assembly lines to make the process run smoother. The boxes will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank, which serves 18 counties, including Davidson County.

Chick-fil-A is also doing a book drive. It’s inviting the public to participate in the Children’s book drive benefiting the American Children’s Home on Highway 8. The donated books are being placed in a nearly 3-foot Book House, built from reclaimed wood. Since 2014, Chick-fil-A has collected more than 51,908 books that have been donated to 311 local organizations in 44 states and Washington, D.C.

The new Lexington restaurant becomes the 34th location within 50 miles of Winston-Salem. The restaurant is among 117 Chick-fil-A locations that will open this year across the country, creating nearly 10,000 new jobs. More information about the new restaurant can be found at Not only is the Chick-fil-A location the first in Davidson County, but also a new prototype for the company’s efforts toward continually working to improve the restaurant’s layout and customer experience. The nearly 5,000-square-foot Lexington Plaza Parkway Chick-fil-A restaurant features a:

• two-story, interactive indoor play area for children and free Wi-Fi.
• heritage restaurant interior design that showcases handmade, authentic materials for a vintage-inspired interior, including a large gathering table made from reclaimed wood, subway tiles, light fixtures resembling peach baskets and one made from recycled Coca-Cola bottles.
• designated Chick-fil-A One mobile ordering pickup parking space and dual drive-thru ordering lanes and screens to enable customers to move quickly into a single lane for payment and pickup.
• dining room with seating for 107 and additional outdoor seating for 20.
• full-service menu with a variety of healthy options and breakfast until 10:30 a.m., and will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Chick-fil-A is closed on Sunday to provide a day of rest and time with family and friends for team members.
