The Multicultural Festival is held in the Uptown Lexington Historic District on the first Saturday in May.The day is filled with the sights, sounds, and tastes of foreign lands, and offers a wonderful educational outing for the entire family! The event showcases cultural diversity through elaborate costumes, musical instruments, exhibits, and entertainment, and highlights 5 cultural villages, Latino, African, European, Asian, and Native American, as well as a Middle Eastern exhibit.
Fantastic 4th Celebration
Every July 4th, thousands of people travel from all over the region to attend Lexington's Fantastic 4th Celebration at the Davidson County Fairgrounds! The festival offers amusements, music, concessions, and activities for adults and kids of all ages, and the highlight of the festival each year is the evening fireworks display!
We are seeking individuals that reside near the Robbins Recreation Center to provide assistance in the community garden.
Volunteer / Sponsor Appreciation Dinner
The staff of the Parks and Recreation department hold an annual Volunteer and Sponsor Appreciation Dinner to honor the hundreds of volunteers we have each year. Without these supporters, we would not be able to offer such amazing programs and activities for the participants in our programs.
