TrainingThe Training Division develops, coordinates and delivers training and education coursework for the staff of the Lexington Fire Department.

Personnel Training and Education
The Training Division provides firefighters with continuous operational training on a regular basis.  Firefighters receive a variety of general training courses throughout the year including fireground operations, apparatus driver training, hazardous materials, rescue and collapse, and operational readiness to name a few.

Career Development
The Lexington Fire Department offers staff extensive opportunities to enhance their careers through advanced coursework, certifications and degrees.  Many of the courses offered are available on site at the fire station or online via the internet. Additionally, the City offers a tuition reimbursement program to help staff defray costs of some courses and degrees.

  • Associate Degree Fire Protection Technology
  • Code Enforcement Certification
  • Instructor Certification
  • Arson Investigator Certification
