Located at 2979 Greensboro Street Extension, the water treatment plant operates with 11 employees with over 100 years of experience to ensure the City of Lexington has great tasting water. The City has proven to be quick in response to actions that could pose a threat to the city’s water. Everything is done to assure the citizens do not suffer safe or limited drinking water supplies during summer months.
Visit the Water Resources page to access the most recent Water Quality Report and read about multiple awards for best tasting water!
Periodically water samples are taken, water tanks are cleaned and hydrants are flushed to maintain the same quality of drinking water the citizens of Lexington enjoy. The staff of the Water Treatment Plant, along with the Superintendent of Water Resources, provides education materials and classes to local schools.
